| What is the route? The route to South India from Manchester isn't straight forward. Imagining a near straight line between the two might involve Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan or Pakistan to enter India from the North East. Taking an overland route avoiding these countries would involve cycling through parts of Russia, Kazakhstan and China - and the highest mountain range in the world, entering by the North. If there's a safe overland route to Kuwait, perhaps a boat could be taken to Mumbai, but this would involve crossing Saudi Arabia. Alternatively, an overland route to Istanbul would involve a boat trip through the Suez Canal, the Gulf of Aden and across the Arabian Sea to Mumbai.
